Raymond Felton wasn’t particularly sharp as the Knicks’ floor general last season. But he’s still only 30 years old, and figures to have something left in the tank. He believes a new start in Dallas will jumpstart his career. From Mavs.com:
“Just to show everybody that I’ve still got it,” Felton said during a conference call with members of the Dallas media last month when asked what he’s looking forward to most next season.
He added: “I still can play. I still can play this game at this level. I can still play this game as an elite point guard at this level. … When you come off a season like I had last season, it’s always a point that you’ve got to prove to yourself coming back the next year. And trust me, I look forward to it.”
“Still” only 30…its amazing how modern medicine changes sports
It hasn’t. Name 10 players today in their 30s that are playing at the same level as their late 20s. Only Kobe and Tim Duncan come to mind.
Still got what his gut?
I’m pretty sure you’ve had to have had it before, in order to show that you still have it.
and Timmy is damn near 40! what a marvel
Felton can have some games where he looks like one of the best players on the court, then he disappears. Must be frustrating to have him on your team.
ginobili was not far off this season
HAHAHAHHAAA! i mean sure why not? just dont play for ny
He was last year. Besides he was rested a lot this season what does modern medicine have to do with that?
i’m not talking about modern medicine, just mentioned that ginobili well into this 30’s played at an extremely high level
Oh Ok. Yeah I agree with that
I think his point is more geared toward; look in the past and see how many 30+ year old players were contributing at the same rate as 30+ year olds now.
Not that 30+ years old have not declined relative to themselves.
You got it man, what im saying is how there are more 30+ players actually contributing than in the past.
Makes sense
one year he is going to prove his critics one, the other year he plays with a chip on his shoulder, then he goes into the season promising to be more of a vocal leader and what we got this year? oh wow, he is excited to prove he still got it.
tarzan you follow boxing? hopkins is 49 about to face one of the most feared up and coming dudes in the sport. amazing whats happening these days
he is literally the 2nd best point guard on his team right now
Extra pounds?
.
Dirk!
All Felton’s got is a case of the munchies…for cupcakes.
Nah you can clearly see him slipping
Well thank God you took it with you, wouldn’t want you to leave it behind.
Tim Duncan doesn’t need that much movement like Kobe though.
Um Dirk?
Lol Dirk is still Dirk!
True
Eh I guess
How you figure? did you watch basketball lastseason?21.7 points, shooting 49.7 percent from the floor, 39.8 percent on threes and 89.9 percent at the free-throw line.ONLY posting the 10th-best season ever for a player 35 or older.ByESPN’s Real Plus Minus, Nowitzki ranked as the league’s fifth-best player overall.

No I’m not a kg fan I just don’t pthink thatvdirk has been the same since 2011 regardless of what the stats say and it showed in the post season
Why don’t stats matter here?he was close to an 50 40 90 season at 35.How is there any argument about dirk not playing at a high level?top five!2011?that was three years ago of course hes not gonna put up 20 shots a game and just dominate games anymore.
